I am ready to use the partial knitting function on the kx 350 my idea is to make some washcloths with my intial in the right hand corner. Only problem is yesterday I was trying to knit some kitchen cotton on T10 and i damn near broke the carriage and my arm! I was like what the hell. Now I was looking at the peaches and cream site and I may have 8 ply don't really remember because on the Lion Brand site it reccomends lion cotton which used to be called kitchen cotton. Now mind you it is for the LK150 but I thought my kx350 was .5mm bigger than the lk maybe it is smaller than the lk. Either way my arm still hurts. So I a need to A find some thinner cotton yarn (do they make thin kitchen cotton) or B put the bond back up. Which I am going to do anyway because I have written what I think is a really good machine knit pattern for the Summerlin.

Birthday Invitations

I am making many invitations. I made or at least half of the invitations for a co workers daughters b day party. I made the top part she filled in the info and cut out a black border and glued it together.

Another co worker asked me to make her baby's first birthday invitations. She asked me if I had a book of my work. I was like wow. If it was raining soup my cup would be turned over. Well not really because she wants me to make them anyway. I am only going to charge what it cost to make them because her invites will be the first in my book. I know I have not blogged in a while but I am still designing.

I have designed the golf book this year and the better I get at my designing software the easier doing the book is. I am down to just fine tuning creating any ads I do not have. I am giving it to Wednesday before I start taking out sponsors who did not put any money in the book. and finalizing the sponsorship list becasue Meechum will need the list soon for his tee hole signs.

Master pages have really helped tomorrow I will scan in as many pics as can get. This will be my filler. What am I going to do with Crickets artwork?

I am new at this designing thing. i saw a card on shutterfly decided to coy it and here you go not an exact match but not bad the download link is on the side! I could not figure out how to strok the box so but yor pic on top of the opening and stroke it or leave it under the hole and leave it plain. Go nuts!

Well at first I finished my granny square. Which was easy a good round trip and it was done. I was so proud that I finshed something I was inspired to finish somethingelse. My baby babette. I only had four squares to go. Well now I only have three squares to go. One eight round, the 16 round and the big daddy the 20 round.

Cable Baby Hat

We will be Machine knitting the hat in the picture (the Kimono is from the Mason Dixon Knitting Book)

Gauge: 18st and 24 rows + 4 in
Yarn: Red Heart Soft, Wine, 100% Acrylic
Key Plate: 3
Tools: One or two prong transfer tool
Cast on 81 sts
Knit 16 rows convert to 1x1 rib
Over the next 25 rows create a 4 sts (2x2) cable.
Row 26 (continuing 4 st cable) move every other st to the right needle. Place all empty needles into non working position.
Row 27 repeat row 26.
Backstitch bind off.
Finishing
Sew seam together.

I am finished. I love it I will take a few pics with the bag for the patern submission but i just realized i for got to put the magnetic closure on the bag. So in a rush! I didi my handles or the ribbon at least like the noni bags. Well I am not finished.

Reflections

I am 15" down 5" to go. I purchased some circulars and man knitting this doesn't hurt anymore. The lady was right I may never go back to striaght needles. I was thinking about how I did not even want to do this project. How just two years ago I had no concept of knitting or purling. Or even just recently I was only working on this project on the way to work now I am almost finshed. I plan on giving the freak'em 1 hour a day. I think I am knitting 1" an hour so I should be finished in 5-6 days. Then the new challenge. The lining!

It is getting heavy

The piece is getting heavy. Yesterday while sitting under the dryer. If I was not knitting it really would have been a waste of a good 45 minutes. Anyway i noticed my arm hurting but only when I had the whole thing on the needle. Like when I started it was ok but by time I made it to the end of the row I was feeling a little ache. I realzed this thang is heavy and I am only at 5" what is it going to feel like at 15". So I emailed my bond group and the answers were unanimous. Get some circurlars!

So the point of this long rant is you may want to start this project on circulars depending on how big your project is.

By the way I am at about 7" I need to get a ticker!

This where I am. Where are you. At first I was only working on it in the ten minutes it took me to get to work but I start thinking about it and I was like I will never be finished with this if I don't get on the ball. But you know life gets in the way but I got to keep going. Do what needs to be done and squeeze in (my hopes) at least an hour on the freak'em. Just working on it a little today I have gotten pretty far. I got lost in the pattern one or two rows, dropped and addded a few stitches but I am back on track and good to go.

10 st amd 10 rows =2". So I doubled that for 4"
20 sts and 20 rows =4"
The piece will 22" wide and 20" long. I will lose 3" on each side for the pleats. Resulting in a 15" wide top, 22" wide base and a 10" long bag.

The math:(correct me if I am wrong)

20x22/2=110 sts

20x20/4=100 rows

I am ready.

Ok last night I didi a little swatch to see what the pattern looked liked. I was told that it is not hounds tooth. Ok fine some check pattern. It is still cute to me. so now I am going to cast on as many as my needles can hold I am thinking that I need to measure it and then do the math for accuracy. ok will do. My swatch is not that big I hope it works. But the pattern is really easy this will be fun.

I am using Caron simply soft because I could not find red heart soft in the colors I wanted. Use what ya got. oh and size 5 needles. They are what I have.
